    Quality investigations

How can we spend less time collecting evidence and more time solving the problem?

Bring the production history, suspect population and supporting observations into a focused investigation, so your team can test an explanation before acting on it.

A practical path from evidence to action

Illustrative workflow — not a product screenshot or a generated result.

    Start from evidence

Inspect the records behind a finding.

    Follow relevant relationships

Build an investigation around the suspected material or process condition.

    Keep judgment accountable

Review suggestions before disposition or corrective action.

A defect count tells you there is a problem. It does not explain it.

Quality investigations often stall while teams collect history from several places. IntelliTrack™ brings findings, production context and related evidence into a workflow where the team can narrow the question and distinguish observations from hypotheses.

    How it works in IntelliTrack™

Turn a signal into an investigation your team can assess.

    1. Inspect the finding

Review the detector's scope, thresholds and supporting records, or start from a known product or process concern.

    2. Build the investigation

Examine the relevant product, material, equipment or recipe window and its connected population. Review images where the required image workflow is configured.

    3. Agree on the next action

Use the evidence to support containment, additional checks or a documented resolution. Treat AI-generated explanations and draft hypotheses as material for review.

    Illustrative manufacturing scenario

A recurring surface defect across several assemblies.

Quality needs to know whether a defect follows a material lot, a process window or a specific station. The investigation combines recorded production context with available inspection images, while the team tests the competing explanations.

    Findings

    Investigation population

What you can inspectProducts matching the defined conditions and their genealogy context.

    Optional image review

What you can inspectImages and suggested classifications from an allowed vision-capable AI workflow.

Give the workflow the context it needs.

    • Deterministic Insights findings and investigation workflows do not require an external AI provider. Configure their feature availability, detector scope and supporting data.
    • AI image review requires Assist, a suitable provider/model, permitted image egress and registered image attributes from allowed locations. Plan the defect classes and reviewer responsibilities.
    • An AI image assessment does not change the existing inspection verdict or product status. Containment and final quality decisions require the appropriate human review and authorization.

    Practical questions

What to know before you start.

Do findings need an AI provider?

Deterministic Insights detectors operate on the recorded data without an external provider. Provider-based Assist adds optional explanations, drafts and image review; these are distinct parts of the workflow.

Does image review replace our vision inspection?

No. It adds a review workflow for permitted images. Suggestions can be confirmed or corrected, and do not automatically change the inspection verdict or product status.

Can we investigate a suspected material lot or process window?

Yes. Investigation conditions can focus on relevant product, material, equipment, recipe or attribute context. The usefulness of the result depends on the recorded relationships and the scope your team chooses.

Can IntelliTrack™ write an entire approved 8D for us?

No. Optional assistance can draft problem descriptions and candidate cause hypotheses from available evidence. Your team owns investigation, corrective actions, verification and approval; a draft is not a completed 8D.

Does finding a correlation establish the root cause?

No. A shared lot, station or pattern is evidence to investigate. Your quality process determines which additional tests and verification are needed before accepting a causal explanation.

Bring a recurring defect or an unanswered quality question.

We can trace the available evidence, examine an investigation population and show where optional image review or AI assistance would add value.
